Winter Is Coming: The perfect Season for a Dream Wedding

The most beautiful wedding is the unique weddings. We always find it really awesome how unique each and every wedding we shoot is. Our couples tend to find their own ways to make their wedding day their own and unique. Some have the ceremony site at the location of their first date, some incorporate their different cultural values to create a blended cultural wedding while others like to keep the ceremonies short and sweet and party the night away. No matter what your style or type of wedding you have remember to always make it your own, and do not let someone else dictate how you and your significant other do your wedding day. One way to have a different style of wedding that most people do not even consider is to have a winter wedding. The reasons to have a winter wedding are that it is a style that is very unique, it is less costly to have your wedding and to pay for travel, it is something out of the ordinary with some unique locations that allow you to capitalize on the winter season, you do not have to worry about the heat, and finally you can add cute winter décor.

The cost for a winter wedding is usually less than when you plan a summer wedding. The peak season for weddings is normally the summer months which for California is from about May to October. Coincidently the cost to travel is always higher around this same time because people are planning their summer vacations with their families. With this being said there is more people booking their weddings around this time; therefore, the selection for dates can be limited depending on which venue you inquire with due to the high volume of weddings. Having a winter wedding definitely has its perks, but the icing on the cake is the beautifully unique locations that you can choose from and capitalize on the winter season.

The thing that is so cool about a winter wedding is that you can find an amazing venue that has snow. Not only does a location that has snow have different style of light because of how the sun sets during the winter time, but it gives your wedding photographer and wedding cinematographer/videographer the ability to capture some unique shots using the snow. We cannot emphasize enough how beautiful it is to have pictures with snow, but it will also produce some unique pictures with a softer light from the sun which means you will have that beauty glow. On top of the fact that there is snow during the winter season you and your significant other can wears scarfs and other winter apparel that would look silly in the summer time. For the adventurous soon to be brides and grooms you can have pictures in a sled with your significant other as well as videos of you and your lover in a sled. There is so much room for creativity with winter weddings. Even a picture of you and your significant other cuddling over a cup of hot chocolate or a piping hot coffee is warranted during the winter season.

We can on and on about all of the creative shots that can be curated for your wedding photography and wedding videography/cinematography.

Okay so depending on where you are located it might be a little different, but during the summer another thing you have to consider is how hot it is going to be especially if you are more inland away from the ocean or away from a lake or river. When we were looking for our wedding venue for our wedding we went to multiple locations; however, we settled on Five Crowns in Corona del Mar because it was so hot anywhere else. If you are looking for a wedding venue in Temecula, Riverside, Santa Ana, or other locations that tend to more inland it can be really hot. This is the reason that at a lot of weddings you see the couples will have custom made fans for their friends and family attending to help with the heat. It is a lot easier to add a scarf or earmuffs for example then it is to cool yourself off on a scorching one-hundred-degree day. Obviously, no matter if it is a summer wedding or a winter wedding you are going to have to battle the climate. If you have winter wedding not only can you capture great unique pictures and film but you can get some cool pictures with winter décor that you couldn’t use during a summer wedding.

Just thinking about the winter décor is exciting. Unique winter decor like pinecones, Douglas fir trees, snowman, and so much more is now accessible to you because it would fit the style of the wedding you are having. Some beautiful red roses in a row of garland sitting on a dark chestnut table would be a stunning sight for your guests to find upon entering the reception. If you found a venue with fireplace an amazing facet to add to curate a style and mood for your winter wedding. Imagine if you and your significant other rent a cabin and can take some pictures in wedding clothes snuggling up by a beautiful fireplace. All of these things are possible with a winter wedding.

There is so much you can do with any wedding, but a winter wedding definitely is a unique style and feature for your guests and yourself. As we always say whatever you do for your wedding day just make sure you do it your way. You only get married once so why not make it something worth remembering.
