Eight Ways to Preserve Your Wedding Details

1.     Preserving Your Wedding Dress

You have spent so much money buying the dress of your dreams, and after the wedding your probably not going to wear your wedding dress ever again. Just because you’re not going to wear it again doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t preserve this beautiful memory. One way to preserve your dress and all of its accessories is to go to specific places that handle them. Some places will clean the dress as well as take the accessories and preserve them in beautiful boxes to help you relive this amazing day over and over. David’s Bridals is a place that does this as well. They not only clean it and preserve it, but they have a gorgeous display box to put it into to help take care of this valuable memory of your special wedding day. Below is a few links of companies that can help you preserve and store your wedding dress:

2.     Preserving Your Wedding Flowers

One of our favorite things to look at when we go to weddings is the beautiful bouquets and flowers that adorn the wedding. We know that as a bride you have spent hours finding the perfect flowers or lots of money to make sure they are the perfect selection for your wedding theme. We recommend taking your flowers and having them preserved to allow them to be frozen in time for you to look back at and take you back to this gorgeous moment when you and your significant other said yes to forever. There are couple ways to preserve the wedding flowers you use. There are companies out there that will help you to freeze these memories for you. Pressed Bouquet Shop is a great place to have this done. They can press your flowers or freeze time by sealing them in resin. They can curate it in such a beautiful way. There are plenty of companies and people that can do this for as well. Etsy has a specific search that is dedicated to just flower preservations. I have enclosed the link to both the Etsy page and the Pressed Bouquet Shop below.

3.     Preserving Your Wedding Cake

Another important part of your wedding day is your wedding cake. You can preserve your top tier of your wedding cake and eat it on your first wedding anniversary. Many times, your baker or your wedding cater can accommodate you to assist you, however, if you want to do it yourself here is what you should do. First, let the cake chill in the refrigerator at your wedding to let the frosting become sturdier and not mushy. Second, you should remove all decorations or ornaments to make it easier to preserve. Third, wrap your wedding cake in plastic wrap with at least two layers. Also remember that there will be other things in your freezer that might have certain odors so you are going to want to be careful to make sure they do not make your cake stink.

4.     Making a Time Capsule

This is an idea that I thought was genius. Take multiple things from the wedding day such as the invitation, wedding favors, written vows, pictures from your wedding day, and other things that would be really cool to look back on in the future. Then maybe 10 years later you and your significant other can open up this time capsule and relive all of your favorite wedding moments all over again.

5.     Keep Your Wedding Playlist

Keep Your Wedding Playlist on your phone, so that every so often you and your significant other can have some alone time and play these nostalgic tunes and remember how awesome your wedding day and all of the wedding songs were. You can even make a date out of it. You can go out to the mountains or some other really cool intimate spot and play the music and dance with your significant other. Especially your wedding song! Remember when you pick your wedding song to pick a song that is unique to you as a couple. This is a song you are going to want to play over and over to relive that first dance.

6.     Create a Scrapbook

One unique way to really put together something to remember all of your wedding fun is to create a scrap book from all of the wedding moments. You can also buy a polaroid camera to have little pictures to put into this scrap book. This idea has so much uniqueness and so much you can do with it. You can cut a piece of lace from your wedding dress or veil and add it to the scrap book as well. This can be a cool project for to do to show your friends and family and share the beautiful memories with them.

7.     Preserve a Wedding Day Cork or bottle top

You can coordinate with the venue to make sure that the first cork (for champagne drinkers) or the first bottle top from the apple cider bottle is framed or adorned in another special way. This is just another way for you to preserve the precious memories made on such a special occasion. You only get married once, so you want to make sure that every moment can be relished and enjoyed over and over again.

8.     Create a Replica of Your Wedding Cake

This probably is the best and coolest idea I have ever heard, but there are companies out there that can make a replica of your cake as a wedding ornament. What better way to celebrate your love by putting an ornament on the Christmas tree every year that represents the story of how your family was formed. This can also become a talking point as you share the love between your significant other with your friends and family and maybe even kids one day. We are a firm believer in saving any and all memories of this day as we love talking about all of our special memories from our wedding.
