1. Match your honeymoon to the interests of you and your significant other.
Do you and your significant other like to hike, to lay on the beach, to swim, or is there any other particular hobby you love to do in your free time? You should ideally plan your honeymoon around that. We love to hike and explore, so we decided to book a trip to Oregon which was perfect because there was so many beautiful hiking trails and nature to explore. If we did not like nature and hiking then our honeymoon would not have been as fun for us. There is a plethora of hotspots that you can find for all of your interests and hobbies.
2. You do not have to leave right away
The best part of planning your honeymoon is that it is your honeymoon. You do not have to go right away you can plan your honeymoon whenever you want. If you decide based on your schedule that you want to go on your honeymoon a week after your wedding then do it. You can always setup a little staycation or mini trip the weekend of your wedding. Visiting places like San Diego for a day just to have that intimate alone time with your significant other.
3. Be flexible with the dates and times of your trip
Being flexible for your honeymoon will allow you to get the best deals and prices for your honeymoon. This will give you more resources to spend on you and your new husband or wife to have some great experiences.
4. Consider the weather where you are traveling
This is incredibly important because you are used to the seasons in your state or country; however, if you are traveling to Australia, Japan, or another country from your own you might want to see what the weather looks like during the season you are taking that trip before booking. You wouldn’t want to be at a place that has monsoon season during the time you are traveling there for your honeymoon. Or maybe you actually do love the rain and such but at least if you know what you weather will look like it will help you to prepare to dress accordingly.
5. Talk to your significant other to set up expectations from your honeymoon
If your significant other is expecting to lounge around all day, sleep in every day, and just have a more relaxing honeymoon it might be a surprise if you have a trip planned full of adventures where you have to wake up early to go places. On the other hand, if he/she is expecting to be busy traveling and exploring but you just want to lounge and lay in bed all day with your now husband/wife it might be a good thing to talk about these things before you even plan where you want to spend your honeymoon after your wedding day.
6. Plan things out one a time to help ease the financial burden of your honeymoon
Rather than spending all of the money you need for your honeymoon at one time pay for things incrementally to help ease the financial burden to ease the anxiety of spending large amounts of money. This also might help you get deals because when you go back there might be a special deal on the trip or event your planning.
7. Be mindful of the time frame of your Honeymoon
If you are planning a honeymoon in Bali, India for example it is important to note the time difference on top of the fact that it takes like 18 hours to get there. If you only are planning a week of honeymooning then it might actually be a bad idea. As when you get to Bali you will not only have lost 18 hours but it will actually be the next day because of the time difference. If you are planning a four-week vacation then you might consider taking a trip further away as you have time to add for the plane ride, time difference, and the other travel times. The time from the airport to the hotel should be considered as well as how tired you might feel from the travel.
