Five Ways to Ease the Stress in Planning Your Wedding day

If you are reading this blog odds are you are planning your wedding or you are going to plan your wedding. Planning a wedding can stressful and exhausting; however, it doesn’t have to be this way. There are many ways to prevent the stress and exhaustion of planning a wedding, and this blog will discuss some ways that can help you to prevent stress and get back to enjoying every second of planning your dream wedding that you have been planning for years and even more.

1.     Make sure to give yourself at least a year and a half to two years of planning to make sure you can give yourself the time needed for it to be done right.

To ensure that your wedding planning goes well make sure to give yourself plenty of time to begin planning the wedding. You should give yourself a year or two of time to plan your wedding and to allow you to find the right vendors to add to your team. Every vendor is so crucial to the success of your wedding day because each one alleviates a little bit of the stress of the wedding day because they give you the confidence to know that you are going to saving energy and time by hiring them. This is why it is so crucial to beginning planning as soon as possible because the right people and the right team might be booked if you wait for the last second to book them. Giving yourself time also allows you to reduce the stress and frustration because now you are not feeling the stress of the time crunch knowing you have plenty of time to find the right people.

2.     Book a team (wedding photographer/wedding cinematographer, coordinator, etc.) that will give you the best experience possible and not add to your stress

The chances of this being your first wedding to plan are very high which means that there is so much about this process that you do not know. It is for this very reason that you want to make sure that you hire the right team to assist you on this big day as it only happens once. Having the right people in your corner ensures that even when you reach a challenge you have people that have been through this before that can help to overcome the challenge and not feel as frustrated. Hiring the right people applies to all areas of your wedding from the wedding planner and day of coordinator, the wedding photographer, the wedding cinematographer, and even the right DJ. Every person that you hire should be someone that will take away from the stress and help to inject fun into this momentous occasion.

3.     Hire a Wedding Planner and a day of coordinator

Hiring the right wedding planner and day of coordinator is so crucial to your success. There are many wedding planners; however, not every one is created equal because there are some that will actually add stress to your plate and overwhelm you. YOU DO NOT WANT THAT! You want a wedding planner that will handle every situation with grace and confidence because this is your only wedding you will have. You want to think back to your wedding day and remember all the great and funny moments not the headaches and nightmares that occurred on this day.

4.     Make sure there is plenty of space on your final timeline to ensure that even if things run late you both are not stressing

Once you have hired a wedding planner and day of coordinator that is absolutely amazing and helpful they will help you to make your timeline for your wedding day. Make sure that you have plenty of wiggle room on your timeline to ensure that even if things run late (which they will most likely) you will not become overwhelmed with stress because you purposely put extra time in the event of this happening. This extra time also helps to give you and your significant other plenty of time to take a few minutes throughout the day to relish all the fun and festivities that happen. Instead of constantly running through the timeline without catching a moment to catch your breath so to speak make sure to add the five or so extra minutes to just get a drink or eat a snack. This is your day and it is supposed to be fun.

5.     Pick a maid of honor or matron of honor that can handle the stresses of everything and handle your business on the day of

Our last tip is to add to your wedding planning team by picking the right maid or matron of honor. This is so important because if you have one that sends all of the questions from various people your way on the day of the wedding it will add to your frustration instead you want someone that will know what you want and be able to answer any questions that are being asked or at the very least know the answer to most questions and be able to filter as many questions as possible to the right people to allow you to enjoy the day. The maid or matron of honor is literally the person you are trusting to handle everything for you so that you can just relish such an amazing day and laugh all day long. You also want a maid or matron of honor that does not take things too serious and can keep you laughing all day long. This is your day and it is supposed to be fun (We have fun at least), and there is nothing worse than a Debbie downer or a negative person sucking the fun out of everything on your special day.

Remember this is your day and we know that many of you have been planning this moment since you were a kid. We know that you want this day to be dreamlike and fun. The only way to do this is to have the right team behind you to ensure it is. Your team and your tribe are everything. Every person that is here on this magical day will add or take away from your day so make sure that everyone is adding to this beautiful day.
